Security & cut
What does security level P-4 mean?
P-4 (DIN 66399) means documents are cut into particles of max. 160 mm² (e.g. 5 × 12 mm micro cut). It is the recommended standard for personal data – the practical GDPR level for households and offices.
Cross cut or micro cut – which one do I need?
Cross cut (our 10-sheet models) is fine for private mail and documents. Micro cut (the 18-sheet model) produces even finer particles and is the first choice for offices, practices and anything particularly confidential.
Why isn't tearing paper by hand enough?
A sheet torn by hand leaves a handful of large pieces – they can be reassembled in minutes. A P-4 shredder turns the same sheet into hundreds of particles that are practically impossible to reconstruct. That difference matters when bank statements, contracts or patient data end up in the recycling bin.
Can I shred credit cards, CDs and staples?
All three models destroy old credit and debit cards. CDs/DVDs and staples are handled by the 18-sheet micro-cut model. For the compact models we recommend removing staples and paper clips first.
Operation & care
How many sheets can I feed at once?
As many as the model is rated for: 10 sheets (compact models) or 18 sheets (office model) of standard 80 gsm paper. Thicker or folded paper counts double – when in doubt, feed a little less; it protects the cutters and prevents jams.
What should I do about a paper jam?
Use reverse first – the 18-sheet model's anti-jam system detects blockages itself and pushes the paper back. Then reduce the stack and feed again. Important: never force paper through.
How long can I shred continuously?
The 18-sheet office model runs up to 60 minutes continuously thanks to air cooling. The compact models are designed for shorter sessions at home; their overheat protection stops the device automatically before the motor is damaged – after a cool-down break you can continue.
How loud are the shredders?
The 18-sheet model runs at 58 dB – about conversation level, so you can take calls next to it. The compact models are likewise designed for use in living spaces.
How do I maintain my shredder?
Empty the bin regularly (the viewing window shows the fill level), keep the device dry and occasionally lubricate the cutters with shredder oil or oil sheets – this keeps cutting performance stable for years.

Credit and debit cards, processed securely via Stripe. Your payment details are entered directly with Stripe and never stored with us.
Can I return my order?
Yes. The statutory 14-day right of withdrawal applies (details in the withdrawal policy). In addition, the statutory 24-month warranty applies.
